Consciousness and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

We are spiritual beings in a physical world, operating in an economic system.  As conscious, spiritual beings, how are we to choose, prioritize and act in a manner that honors ourselves, others, the natural world and future generations?  What are the ways we need to act to create a world that is just, sustainable and spiritually fulfilling?  Can we use our money, resources, time and talent to create a healthy future for the next seven generations?

I have been pondering these questions, even praying these questions, discussing and listening about these questions.

What I know is I don’t have answers, but to me, the questions are important.

I recently had the opportunity to visit with Lawrence Ford, CEO of Conscious Community Wealth Management about about his work with the United Nations on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.  “The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice. The 17 Goals are all interconnected, and in order to leave no one behind, it is important that we achieve them all by 2030.”  Very powerful work!

Lawrence is working with a team on Future CapitalThe Future Capital initiative is focused on restoring the right relationship between consciousness and capital, as creative force and constructive resource.”  I’m so grateful for this initiative!!

Money, consciousness, sustainability, capital, compassion, economics, right relationship, can we connect all of these concepts into a whole, that serves all living beings?  What a concept!
